McGill Granby Village Residents' Association

Who We Are

The McGill Granby Association is a volunteer organization of residents committed to strengthening and preserving the quality of life, the natural environment, and the distinctive character of Toronto's McGill Granby Village (bounded by Yonge and Jarvis, east to west, and Carlton and Gerrard, north to south).  We work to preserve the vital residential and commercial character of the community, and we support lawful, balanced and innovative development for the future.

What We Do

Analyze and address individual development applications for new buildings and building renovations, and represent community interests at Community Council, the Committee of Adjustment and the Ontario Municipal Board

Engage effectively in City development planning initiatives (e.g., the TOcore downtown planning project, built-form studies, streetscape studies, DPS/OPS/LAB) to maximize benefits for the community

Engage and collaborate with the ward Councillor and her office to effectively navigate City government, access planning tools, develop innovative initiatives and influence political directions

Liaise and collaborate with adjacent Residents’ Associations, BIA’s and major institutions to the benefit of the community

Help to maintain community standards by vetting and commenting on  applications for filming activities, liquor licenses (new, renewals and extensions), patio licenses (new and extensions), and noise exemptions
